Backup and Restore is a 2-in-1 tool that Microsoft integrates for recent versions of Windows. Its mission is simply to back up and restore data in case the computer crashes or damages.

Back up data on Windows 8
Step 1: Since the backup and restore feature of Windows 7 is hidden on Windows, you need to enable it first.
From the desktop, click Start and type “backup“. Now open the Save backup copies of your files with File History option
Step 2: Click on Windows 7 File Recovery and select Create a system image to backup all data on the computer.
Step 3: This is where you store the backup. You can store it on your hard drive, DVD drive, or over the network. Finally, click Next and OK to finish.
Restore data on Windows 8
Step 1: To recover data, first you need to go to Windows 8 Settings. Press the Windows – C key combination to open the charm bar, then select Settings.
Step 2: Switch to the General tab, then select the Restart now button at the bottom of the screen.
Step 3: On the Advanced options screen, you need to go to Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > System Image Recovery. Here you can select previously backed up versions to restore.
If the computer cannot boot into Windows, when turning on the machine, press and hold the Shift key to enter the Advanced options screen. Next, follow the steps as above to restore.
